If you have an Apple device, you’ve probably created an Apple ID to access various services. The ID enables you to access and download apps on iTunes, make purchases from the Apple store, and use iCloud. When you’re using a new device, you’re prompted to sign up for an Apple ID. This involves creating a password and a few recovery questions, because similar to any account, it can be simple to forget your Apple ID password.
“I Forgot My Email Address and Security Questions!”
Do you forget your recovery email address, password, and security questions? If so, it can be difficult to recover your Apple ID, however, it’s possible. First, go to the Apple ID Support page and choose “start your support request online.” Then, select “forgotten Apple ID security questions,” which offers two options:
1. Schedule a Call: Choose a time for an Apple tech to call you.
2. Call Apple Support Later: Enter your information and talk to an Apple tech later.
Once you’re on the phone with an Apple tech, you’ll be asked a variety of questions regarding your account. If you answer the questions successfully, the tech will confirm your identity and unlock your account/reset your password.
“I Forgot My Apple ID Password!”
If you remember your Apple ID, it’s fairly simple to reset your password. There are two ways to solve the problem:
1. Use the Email Address Linked to Your Apple ID
If you can access the email account linked to your Apple ID, it’s pretty simple to recover the password. First, go to the Apple ID website on your device, then click “reset your password,” which will prompt you to enter your Apple ID. Once you’ve entered the ID, click next and choose “email authentication.” Apple will send you an email with instructions to reset your password.
2. Answer the Security Questions
When you created your Apple ID, you answered security questions to enable recovery if you forgot the password. First, go to the Apple ID website on your device, then click “reset your password,” which will prompt you to enter your Apple ID. Once you’ve entered the ID, select “answer security questions” and answer the questions successfully to reset your password.
